Birdview Skylights from Logistics Lighting
Birdview Skylights builds the TBCM, a thermally broken curb-mount double-dome skylight offered in acrylic or polycarbonate, several dome colors and frame finishes, and either Miami-Dade HVHZ or standard certification. Logistics Lighting distributes the Birdview units listed above, quotes them against your curb dimensions, and ships direct from Birdview.
What we carry from Birdview
TBCM thermally broken curb-mount skylights. The 4848 TBCM fits a 4 x 4 curb with a frame inside dimension of 51.5 x 51.5 inches, and the 4896 TBCM fits a 4 x 8 curb at 51.5 x 99.5 inches. Both are double glazed with a thermally broken aluminum frame that reduces condensation on the interior of the frame in cold weather. Each product page has separate cut sheets for the Miami-Dade and non-Miami-Dade versions. Birdview also builds custom sizes, which we quote on request.
Choosing the glazing
Acrylic domes are clearer and lower in cost; polycarbonate is the choice where impact resistance matters, such as hail-prone regions or roofs with foot traffic nearby. Dome color affects the light: white or bronze tints diffuse and reduce glare, clear domes maximize daylight. Tell us the building use and location and we will recommend a combination, or use our daylight and energy analysis service for a modeled layout.
Sizes and fit
Birdview names units by curb inside dimension in inches: 4896 is a 48 x 96 curb that measures about 51 x 99 outside, and the 51.5 x 99.5 frame drops over it. Measure the outside of the existing curb, including flashing, and compare it with the frame dimension on the product page before ordering a replacement.
