Kingspan Light + Air makes the KAT dome commercial skylight, a broad line of UL-listed smoke vents, and the interior safety screens and Gladiator cages that protect the openings. What we carry from Kingspan Light + Air

1100 Series KAT dome skylights. The 4896 KT11 and 4848 KT11 are triple glazed: white polycarbonate over white prismatic polycarbonate over a 16 mm multi-wall panel, on a thermally broken frame, for buildings where the energy code drives the skylight U-factor. The CPP versions (4896, 4848) use a clear prismatic middle layer for more light. The 4896 KS11 is the single-glazed version. The Alumilite 4689 KT12 and 4689 KT12 O16 fit the 46.25 x 89.5 inch curbs found on older industrial roofs.

Smoke vents. The 4896 A ULSV is a UL-listed aluminum double-door vent with exterior release and a 10 lb uplift rating, in single-glazed 370 F, double-glazed 370 F, single-glazed 360 F and louvered 360 F versions. The 5596 ASLDOUL and 55102 ASLDOUL are UL-listed drop-out (melt-out) vents with no moving parts. Larger openings are covered by the 6060 SVAA bubble-dome vent and the 6072 SVAM insulated metal-lid vent with 30 lb uplift. The T4896 SSV and T4896 SSVLV are non-listed torsion-spring smoke hatches for jurisdictions that do not require a listing.

Safety screens and cages. The SSCRN interior screen is 4 x 4 inch welded galvanized wire that fastens to the curb under the skylight, in 4689, 4848, 4872, 4896, 6060, 6072 and 6096. The Gladiator cage is an exterior screen for melt-out vents and skylights, in 3648, 4896, 5596 and 55102.

Sizes and fit

Kingspan names units by curb inside dimension in inches. A 4896 KT11 has a frame inside dimension of 52.5 x 100.5 inches and sits over a curb that measures 51 x 99 outside; the ULSV vents are 52.25 x 100.25 inside. Operable Kingspan vents accept interior screens only, and the ASLDOUL melt-out vents accept exterior screens only, so tell us which vent you are protecting and we will quote the right screen.
