AES Industries roof curbs from Logistics Lighting

AES Industries fabricates the galvanized steel roof curbs that skylights and smoke vents sit on, plus equipment support rails for rooftop units. Logistics Lighting distributes AES curbs across the United States, quotes them to match the skylight or vent going on top, and ships direct from the AES plant. When you buy the curb and the skylight together we check both cut sheets so the two parts arrive as a matched set.

What we carry from AES Industries

ARC3 pre-insulated curbs. Insulated at the factory, 18 gauge (14 gauge on some sizes), with a pre-installed 6 x 6 inch safety grid (SSG). The 4 x 8 curb comes in three heights: 4896 ARC3 9H, 4896 ARC3 12H and 4896 ARC3 16H. The 4040 ARC3 12H 14GA is the 4 x 4 curb and the 36120 ARC3 is the 3 x 10 curb used under corrugated-panel skylights.

ARC6 non-insulated curbs. Field insulated, with a white-primed interior, either a pre-installed 4 x 4 inch safety screen (CG) or no screen (NG). Sizes run from the 4848 ARC6 14H CG and 4848 ARC6 12H 14GA through the 4872 ARC6 NG, 4896 ARC6 CG, 4896 ARC6 NG, 5060 ARC6 and 6060 ARC6 NG. The 4896 ARC6 CG for VELUX smoke vents sets the screen 1 inch below the curb top so the vent's opening mechanism clears it.

AES-3 equipment support rails. A rail curb with a 2 x 4 wood nailer for mounting rooftop equipment, in 8, 10 and 12 inch heights and 48, 96 and 120 inch lengths: AES-3 8H 96L, AES-3 10H 96L, AES-3 10H 120L, AES-3 12H 48L and AES-3 12H 120L.

Reading an AES model number

The first number is the curb inside dimension in inches (4896 is 48 x 96), followed by the series, height (9H, 12H, 14H, 16H), gauge (14GA or 18GA) and screen code: SSG is a 6 x 6 safety grid, CG is a 4 x 4 safety screen and NG is no grid. A 4896 curb measures about 51 x 99 outside, which is the dimension the skylight frame is built to. Curb height is set by the roofing details; 12 to 14 inches is typical on insulated roofs, and smoke vents generally want the taller curb.
