The Taylon 4896 ULVSV combines a UL-listed automatic smoke vent with a MAXAIR vented base, so one opening in the roof provides daylight, everyday passive ventilation and fire venting. The upper unit is the same UL 793 listed Diamond Series smoke vent as the 4896 ULSV, with a fusible link release and G90 galvanized mechanism; the base beneath it is G90 galvanized steel with 11 square feet of ventilation area, an integrated rain shield, bird screen, insect screen and dust filter. Specify the ULVSV on unconditioned warehouses and industrial buildings where the code requires smoke vents and the owner wants passive airflow without fans. For fire venting alone, the 4896 ULSV is lighter and lower in cost; for daylight and ventilation without a listing, the 4896 ISPV. Sunoptics' SVT2CV 4080 is the comparable continuous-vent smoke vent.
