Sunoptics skylights and smoke vents from Logistics Lighting
Sunoptics introduced the plastic prismatic skylight in 1978 and still builds the prismatic polycarbonate skylights that most warehouse daylighting designs in the United States are drawn around. Logistics Lighting is a Sunoptics distributor: we quote the Signature Series skylights, smoke vents, safety screens and guards listed above, confirm the fit against your curb, and have them shipped direct from the Sunoptics factory to job sites anywhere in the country.
What we carry from Sunoptics
Signature Series skylights (SMD). Double-glazed prismatic domes on the thermally broken 800MD aluminum frame. The SMD 4080 C2W1 is the standard 4 x 8 unit, FM rated, with clear prismatic over white prismatic polycarbonate; the SMD 4080 C3W0 HVHZ is the same size built for high-velocity hurricane zones. Smaller curbs are covered by the SMD 4040, SMD 4060 and SMD 5060. The SSCBL1 4080 is a single-glazed 4 x 8 unit with a continuous vent blade for buildings that need airflow through the skylight.
Signature Series smoke vents (SSVT and SVT2). Double-door vents that daylight the floor every day and open automatically in a fire. The SSVT 4080 with a 360 F link is FM rated, the SSVT 4080 with a 370 F link is UL listed, the SVT2 5080 covers a 5 x 8 curb with a 212 F link, and the SVT2CV 4080 adds a continuous vent blade.
Fall protection. The CLPOG safety and security guard mounts under the skylight on the curb (4080, 4040, 5060), BURGB burglar bars add 5 inch on-center security, and the ESFP 4080 and ESFP 4040 are exterior screens that cover the dome from above. ESFP is fall protection, not a skylight.
Sizes and model numbers
Sunoptics names units in feet and inches: 4040 is a 4 ft by 4 ft nominal opening and 4080 is 4 ft by 8 ft, which is the same 48 x 96 inch curb that other manufacturers call 4896. The frame inside dimension on a 4080 is 52.25 x 100.25 inches, so it drops over a standard curb that measures 51 x 99 outside. Each product page shows the frame dimension; measure the curb outside, including flashing, before you order a replacement.
Where Sunoptics fits in our catalog
Choose Sunoptics when the daylighting design calls for prismatic glazing and FM or HVHZ ratings, which is most large distribution centers. If the project needs a wider size range or a Florida product approval on a LuxGuard dome, look at VELUX Commercial; for triple-glazed units with a lower U-factor, see Kingspan Light + Air. Matching curbs come from AES Industries and Curbs Plus. The Sunoptics retrofit case study shows what the change looks like on the floor.
