  • Description

The Taylon 4896 ISP is a single-glazed curb-mount industrial skylight built around Taylon's white Diamond Series arched polycarbonate dome. It is sized for the standard 4 x 8 warehouse curb, 48 x 96 inches inside and 51 x 99 inches outside, and it carries an ICC-ES listing (ESR-5273), an 800 lb impact rating and a Class IV hail rating. At about 45 lb it is one of the lightest 4 x 8 units to carry across a roof, which is why it is a common choice for replacement work on older warehouse and manufacturing roofs. Logistics Lighting is a Taylon distributor: we confirm the curb fit, quote the unit and ship direct from Taylon in Santa Ana, California.

Key features of the 4896 ISP

    • Diamond Series dome. The faceted arch stiffens the dome and collects low-angle light; Palram polycarbonate exceeds UL 972 impact standards and is Class IV hail rated.
    • Daylighting performance. 80 percent visible light transmittance, 0.58 solar heat gain coefficient, 100 percent diffusion so the floor is lit evenly without hot spots.
    • Listed and rated. ICC-ES ESR-5273, performance grade 40, 126 mph wind rating, CC1 combustion classification.
    • Weathertight frame. Architectural grade 6063-T5 aluminum frame with a 50-year silicone seal, 55 durometer Santoprene gasket, condensate gutter and weep holes.
    • Light. About 45 lb, mill finish.
    • Made in the USA.

    ISP, ISP2 or ISPV?

The ISP is the single-glazed base unit. The 4896 ISP2 adds an inner dome for a lower U-factor and less condensation; the 4896 ISPV puts the same dome on a galvanized MAXAIR vented base for buildings that need airflow. For prismatic glazing and FM ratings compare Sunoptics; for triple glazing see Kingspan Light + Air. Matching curbs are on the roof curbs page and interior screens for the opening are on the fall protection page.

    Frequently asked questions

Will it fit my existing curb? If the curb measures 51 x 99 inches outside, yes. Send the outside dimensions if they differ and we will confirm a standard unit or a curb adapter.

Is it FM approved? The ISP carries an ICC-ES listing rather than FM approval. Where the spec requires FM, look at the Sunoptics or VELUX lines.

Does it need a safety screen? OSHA 1910.28 requires a skylight 4 feet or more above a lower level to be guarded. Taylon's 4896 FPBA fall protection bar fits the same curb.

    How to get a quote

Send the skylight worksheet or call 307-633-9696 with quantity, curb outside dimension and ship-to address. We confirm the current Taylon lead time on the quote and coordinate delivery. The cut sheet, data sheet and three-part specification are in the Documents tab.
