The Kattsafe KD001 is an aluminum landing platform that gives portable ladders a secure, designated place to land at the roof edge. The ladder support bracket holds the ladder base against sideways movement and slip, and the platform's self-closing gate puts distance between the worker and the leading edge as they step onto the roof. It is the answer for buildings that are accessed by extension ladder rather than a fixed ladder. Where the KD001 fits
If the roof is reached by a fixed ladder instead, the RL20 angled and RL30 vertical ladders with parapet or walkway platforms are the permanent solution, and the GRLP ladder protector controls access to them. Why not just tie the ladder to the gutter? OSHA 1910.23 requires portable ladders to be secured against displacement; a fixed landing platform with a support bracket does that every time without relying on the crew.
Does it penetrate the roof? The attachment points are heat-welded or adhered to the membrane by the roofer using matching membrane, which is why the membrane type has to be specified.
Can it connect to a guardrail run? Yes. The KP0001 attachment points also serve GR34 guardrail and walkway systems.
